Professional Responsibility:
Greg Hess joined Strategic Reimbursement Group, LLC in November 1996 as a Senior Manager, was promoted to Vice President in 2005, and became a Partner in 2014. Mr. Hess’ operational responsibilities include sales, client management, contracting, client engagement oversight, and staff hiring and scheduling. Additional areas of focus include process improvement, product development, regulatory updates, speaking engagements, and staff education. Mr. Hess also continues to directly provide a full range of Medicare reimbursement services, recently serving as Interim Director of Reimbursement for a large multi-hospital healthcare system.
Background and Experience:
Mr. Hess has 33 years of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement experience, beginning his career at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Wisconsin as a Medicare cost report field auditor. In 1990, Mr. Hess joined KPMG Peat Marwick as a Supervising Senior in their health care audit practice. In that role, he was primarily responsible for preparing cost reports, auditing third party reserves & contractual allowances, and preparing financial statements, thereby expanding his expertise into the financial reporting of complex hospital systems. Combining his cost reporting and financial reporting expertise, Mr. Hess then served as Supervisor of Reimbursement and Managed Care for a large healthcare system comprised of eleven hospitals and numerous clinics. In this capacity, Mr. Hess was responsible for Medicare cost report preparation, third-party accounting, analysis of contractual allowances and feasibility studies. Additionally, Mr. Hess was responsible for analyzing managed care rate proposals, monitoring payments received from managed care organizations, and contract negotiations.

Mr. Hess earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin, is a Certified Public Accountant and a contributing member of the Health Care Financial Management Association.
