To work with, as well as for, hospitals and various other healthcare providers by serving as a single-source of expertise for all reimbursement related issues, with the twin goals of ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and contracts, while determining and recovering the full and maximum reimbursement to which the provider is legitimately entitled.
Professional Responsibility:
Mr. Whitten joined Strategic Reimbursement Group, LLC in January 2021 as an Executive Vice President. His responsibilities include the expansion of SRG’s business, and the continued development and growth of our people, our products, and our services. Mr. Whitten will also focus specifically on our clients, ensuring that the client’s needs, issues and problems continue to be front and center in all of Strategics’ work. He will help our clients develop and execute on the operational and financial strategies necessary to be successful in this rapidly changing regulatory environment.
Background and Experience:
Mr. Whitten has 29 years of experience in healthcare operations, finance and reimbursement. He is the former National Managing Partner of Ernst & Youngs Government Programs, Reimbursement and Compliance Practice line. He has also served as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President of two national healthcare consulting firms focused on operational and financial performance improvement and reimbursement. He brings a wealth of experience in working with some of the nation’s largest health systems to reengineer their government programs & reimbursement departments to manage revenue, cut operational costs and display evidence of an effective compliance program. He was responsible for all aspects of operations and client services for a book of business over $40M with 150 FTEs located across the country. Additionally, he has served as an interim CFO during a successful turnaround for a large academic medical center with over 350 beds. He creates a culture of accountability and personal excellence with a focus on client service, and regulatory compliance.
Professional Credentials:
Mr. Whitten is a Beta Gamma Sigma Honors graduate from Colorado State University with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration - Finance. He has a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Utah and is a contributing member of the Health Care Financial Management Association. He was the 2000, 2001 & 2002 Outstanding National Practice Management Leadership award recipient as well as the 2004 National Innovation and Distinguished Mentor awards.
